What Not To Wear.

I think it is time to go through my wardrobe. Why, you might ask?

Today, while subbing for a 4th grade class, one of the girls came in wearing this shirt:

A shirt I own. There seems to be something incredibly wrong with the fact that I, a 27 year-old, have the same shirt as a 9 year-old that I am teaching. Very wrong.

I'll admit that last week when I put this shirt on when heading to a doctor's appointment, I thought to myself that I was probably getting a little too old to wear shirts like this. I was kinda embarrassed while in the doctor's office, and thought seriously about getting rid of all shirts like this when I returned home. Unfortunately, I have a lot of them...they always made me laugh when I saw them in the store, and I'd buy them. But now, I think I've grown up. And if I haven't, I'd better (not always easy when it is so easy to be mistaken for being 10 years younger then I actually am...). Granted, finding clothes that fit isn't easy for me (juniors is the only department that fits...petite sometimes, but petite's are soooo expensive!), and granted, I hate getting rid of clothes until they are WORN OUT (they typically go from everyday clothes, to farm clothes, to trash), but I'd rather not be wearing the same clothes as the student's I teach.

Time to go through my drawers and add to the yard sale pile. I wonder if I'll have any shirts left? ;)

um. i find that shirt hilarious. i wish you had worn it to a departmental. we would have started talking to eachother sooooo much sooner if you had :-)

i think that shirt is perfect for barn yard attire. it exactly matches SO many splatterable substances. it's a must KEEP despite the fact that a 9 year old who was trying to be TOO OLD FOR HER AGE was wearing.

Hehe...that's kinda funny. But i totally feel ya on this one. While i don't own that shirt, i do own others that are middle and high school aged. It's definately time for me to clean out that closet and look older than 18. I think that means i need to get rid of my Hello Kitty shirt, too.

I think it's inappropriate the 9 year old is wearing it. I have shirts with fun sayings too... now I feel ashamed! :)

I'm still not giving up my "Ponies are pretty" or "Just BEEEE yourself!" shirt

I started laughing when I read the shirt, too funny. Then I laughed until I cried when I read that you and a 9 year old had it, just to think of your expression. That was hilarious! Yes, it's time to weed out the shirts. They'll be sure to sell at a yard sale!

It is a funny shirt : ). Hopefully you can donate them to Salvation Army or something. I am sure whoever gets them will love them like crazy!

I know how you feel, I had a Napoleon Dynamite t-shirt and felt like I should get rid of it, but I didn't because life is short and who cares really? I wear it around the house! :-)
